Possibly one of the more interesting projects that we've done... Plastic Martians was commissioned by Komodo Media Ltd. to produce a game to sit alongside a marketing campaign devised to promote Stena Line. Nothing strange there. What was more interesting was that a big chunk of the advertising was based around a group of characters getting a Stena ferry to go extreme ironing! As you can imagine, the flood gates then opened to the ideas for a game!
The result was a fantastic little game, Go Extreme Ironing! You play as an extreme ironer yourself - the main purpose of the game is to get to the end of the course as quick as possible, but also scoring as many points as you can by doing tricks, chaining combos together, hitting special moves (sneaky hint: jump on the granny's head)... all with the aid (hindrance?) of an ironing board and iron!
The game was written in a little over 3 weeks in pure Flash/AS2.0 using our usual coding tools. Most of the artwork was provided by Komodo Media Ltd.
